Cleany AI, a forward-thinking startup, needed to move beyond the fragmented, manual process of finding home services through directories and referrals. They required a centralized digital platform to unify their diverse user base—connecting busy homeowners with vetted, professional service providers. The core objective was to create a seamless, AI-driven experience that would dramatically reduce booking time and increase user trust.
Users faced significant friction due to reliance on manual searches, resulting in operational bottlenecks. Overwhelmed by excessive options, many experienced “analysis paralysis,” while inconsistent service quality eroded customer trust and made booking slow and cumbersome. On the vendor side, acquiring qualified leads was inefficient, compounded by time-consuming administrative tasks. To address these challenges, Cleany AI required a centralized, high-performance platform capable of handling complex, high-volume user requests with accuracy, speed, and scalability.
We delivered a fully custom, end-to-end service marketplace platform structured around three core pillars, transforming Cleany AI's ambitious MVP concept into a scalable, market-ready solution.
Intelligent AI Matching Engine
We developed a sophisticated matching engine that serves as the platform's core intelligence. Leveraging an integration with OpenAI, the system comprehends natural language user requests with remarkable accuracy. This is paired with a proprietary algorithm that matches user needs against vendor skills, availability, location, and historical performance data to find the "perfect match" in seconds.
Real-Time Communication Hub
We engineered a dynamic communication hub using Parlant to precisely identify user intent from chat conversations. Once a user's need is confirmed and a vendor is matched, Socket.io enables a real-time, persistent chat channel. This groundbreaking feature allows the matched vendor to instantly jump into the chat, creating a seamless handover from AI to a human professional, drastically cutting down response times.
Unified Trust & Transaction Platform
We built a comprehensive workbench that brings all user and vendor activities into one intuitive interface. Featuring a secure wallet for seamless payments, a transparent review system, and detailed booking management, the platform empowers users with control and vendors with the tools they need to manage their business efficiently.
As a market-first solution, the Cleany AI MVP was launched to disrupt the traditionally manual and fragmented process of finding trusted home service professionals. By introducing a centralized, AI-driven platform from scratch, the company immediately demonstrated a dramatic potential for improving booking efficiency and user satisfaction. Within the first quarter of the pilot launch, they reported:
To cater to all user behaviors, we designed two distinct but interconnected core features: a proactive, AI-driven dashboard for quick actions, and a comprehensive directory for manual exploration.
First, the Intelligent User Dashboard serves as the user's home screen. This is not a static landing page, but a smart, personal hub designed to provide the most relevant information at a glance. Its primary components include:
Cleany Wallet: A prominent feature providing immediate financial transparency and simplifying transactions.
AI Suggestions: A dynamic carousel that acts as the proactive core of the experience. It surfaces personalized recommendations like a "Top Vendor Match" based on user history, a "Smart Schedule Suggestion" for recurring needs, and a "Service Spotlight" to introduce relevant new offerings.
Recent Bookings: This section offers quick access for users to review their service history or rebook a favorite vendor with a single tap.
Complementing the dashboard is the dedicated Service & Vendor Directory, a separate screen accessible from the main navigation. This feature is for users who prefer to explore the full range of options manually before making a decision.
Comprehensive Catalog: This screen acts as a complete catalog of every service offered, from "General Cleaning" to "Handyman" tasks. Services are clearly categorized and presented in a clean, visual card layout, complete with robust search and filtering capabilities.
AI-Enhanced Browsing: Even within this manual browsing experience, the platform's intelligence is at work. The vendor lists for each service are, by default, sorted using our "Recommended" algorithm. This AI-powered function analyzes ratings, reliability, and relevance to the user's profile to ensure that the best and most suitable professionals are always surfaced first.
For a truly hands-free and rapid experience, we designed a voice-powered booking interface.
User Experience: From the focused AI Assistant screen, the user simply taps the microphone button and speaks their request. A dynamic audio visualizer provides feedback that the system is listening. For users who might be less comfortable, we provided a clear exit path with a Manual Form Order button.
Technical Details:
Speech-to-Text (STT): The user's voice command is transcribed into text in real-time using native platform STT APIs for maximum accuracy.
Intent Processing: The resulting text is then fed into the same OpenAI + Parlant engine used by the chat feature, ensuring consistency in AI comprehension.
Text-to-Speech (TTS): The AI's responses and clarifying questions are converted back into a natural-sounding voice to create a true, two-way conversational experience.
The chat interface serves as the user's primary command center. Instead of traditional forms, we created a guided experience that feels natural and intuitive.
User Experience: Users are greeted by "Cleany AI" and can type their requests in plain language, such as "Hello" or "Let's Clean!". The AI then guides them step-by-step, prompting for crucial information like a preferred date via interactive widgets that appear directly within the conversation. This keeps the user in a single, seamless flow without needing to navigate away.
Technology: We utilized an OpenAI integration to understand natural language requests, while Parlant is used to identify specific user intents (e.g., differentiating between "general cleaning" and "faucet repair"). This allows the AI to ask relevant and accurate clarifying questions.
For its MVP launch, Cleany AI strategically focused on two key markets: Ponte Vedra and Boca Raton, Florida. Clear communication regarding this specific service area was crucial for managing user expectations.
MVP Functionality: The map page was designed to clearly define these operational boundaries. For any user accessing the platform, the map transparently communicates that the service is exclusively available in Ponte Vedra and Boca Raton. Instead of creating a dead end for users outside this zone, we transformed it into a strategic user acquisition tool. The "Service Not Available in Your Area" message is paired with a call-to-action button—Be the first to know when we expand!—allowing Cleany.ai to capture interest and build a targeted waitlist for future expansion.
Future Vision: As the platform grows beyond its initial markets, this map will evolve into a dynamic, visual discovery tool. Users will be able to see available vendors near them in real-time, complete with estimated arrival times and brief profiles, fully realizing the vision of a broad, on-demand service marketplace.
